Grey for Autumns

Grey can be a tricky colour for Autumns. Too bright and it belongs to Spring. Too cold and steely and it falls into the Winter palette. But fret not, there are plenty of greys out there for you, and once you figure out what works, you'll see what a great backdrop it makes for fiery orange or sophisticated petrol navy. Your ideal grey has undertones of taupe and mole, and sits very comfortably in the rich warm tones of your palette. The wrong greys will look cold and dead next to your colours, dragging them down and you along with them.

As an alternative to some of your deeper looks, keep it light and pretty with a paler shade of warm grey and coral accents.

Kettlewell's taupe bike officially makes every outfit better, and when the starting place is as good as this Jersey Maxi Skirt and cashmere combo, you can't go wrong.

Grey makes a grey smart work look that's a little less terrifying (and unflattering) than black, especially with a teal pencil skirt. Pair it with nimbus for a smart look and add a bright pop of colour for less formal days.
