Winter's white t-shirt
Our Winter model, Violet, wearing a White Semi Scoop 3/4 Sleeve
Time to celebrate - on you, the classic white t-shirt looks its best! Clear, crisp and bright, this wardrobe classic will make you look all of those things as well, rather than washing you out as it does on other skintones.
However, don't neglect your alternatives. Depending on where you fall within the Winter palette, you may find you look better and feel more interesting in Winter's variations on white, from lightest silver to the ice blues, greens, pinks and yellows of your palette.
Also beware of your white in softer fabrics, such as knitwear or slub fabric. While these will still work for you as long as they are truly white (optic white is optic white, after all), they will need to be worn in contrast to really emphasise their brightness, as they will easily soften into a Summer white. The best fabrics for your white are simple bright white tshirts, cotton shirts and other smooth fabrics.
For warmer weather, pair your white with vivid chinese blue or magenta pink (there is the most amazing hot pink coming soon for Winters!). Or for a more formal look, stick to the classics like navy or black with crisp white - add a splash of contrast with lipstick or a scarf.
A White Silky Scoop - looks good with an Iris Cotton Blazer, Fuchsia Florence Infinity Scarf, a Black Paris Jacket or a Navy Short Cascade.
As well as the colour, think about the shape and style of tee that works for you. A softer neckline often suits a softer face shape, while an angular one suits a more structured shape. Also think about sleeve lengths - the classic tee is a simple, crew necked, short sleeved affair, but if you feel more comfortable in half or 3/4 sleeves, choose the tee that makes you look and feel your best. The good news is that Kettlewell offers a huge range of colours and styles, with a permutation to suit absolutely everyone, and with even more new variations coming very soon!
And don't forget the whitening powder to add to your wash! If your whites soften and go greyish or yellowish in the wash they will immediately lose their impact.
